INSTRUCTIONS

Step Step Name Target Temp (F) Infusion Needed Quarts / Pound 1. Initial Infusion 153.0 5.55 Quarts @ 175.9 (F) 0.75 2. Mash Out 170.0 2.8 Quarts @ boiling 1.13 3. Final Rinse 172 0.5 Quarts @ boiling 1.20 4. Sparge --- Run until 7.5 for boil --- Obviously add sugar in the boil step. I goofed up the above, used too much water in mash, recirculated longer and sparged with less. Put in Keggerator 202306221. Let cool and tested on 20230623. Damn good stout. Real subtle coffee, good clone of Murphy's, little bit more bitter than Guinness, right where I wanted it. Very pleased with it. Next time may back off the Chocolate and Roasted Barley a smidge to bring within style parameters (under 40 SRM).
